Goodtime Live
Benny’s journey into music began early, but his direction crystallized at age eleven through hip-hop, drawing heavy influence from artists like DJ Premier, Mobb Deep, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Nas. That foundation in rhythm and groove led him into live music during his teens, playing drums and guitar in his school band. At fourteen, discovering jungle proved pivotal, with tracks such as Super Hero by The House Crew and Calling All the People by A-Zone sparking a deep fascination that pushed him toward production and early experimentation with sequencing.
By sixteen, Benny was fully committed, enrolling in a two-year music technology course and dedicating himself to making music full time. His first breakthrough came via South London label Cutterz Choice with Chainsaws, followed by Addictive, which gained heavy support from key figures including Nicky Blackmarket, Brockie, and Ash Attack. Wider recognition arrived with Sneaker Pimp, earning airplay on BBC Radio 1 through John Peel, and continued with Neckbreaker / Kist, with Neckbreaker featured on an Aphrodite mix CD in the United States, leading to a remix of the classic Stalker.
Since then, Benny has built a catalogue known for its dancefloor impact and stylistic range, with tracks such as Pinball, Tempest, and Moneyzone becoming fixtures in sets. Embracing a broad musical palette, he continues to evolve his sound, placing greater emphasis on vocals and musical depth as he looks to bring fresh energy and emotion back into drum and bass.
